'When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain'? It's in the same verse as her other novella 'Empress of Salt and Fortune' - vaguely historical eastern Asian setting fantasy. This second one had a kind of folk tale feel to it, all about storytelling. I love the writing style, but personally I find it more vibe than plot? Which is fine for me, but might not be everyone's cup of tea.
