Year End Fandom Meme - 2022

Let's see if this turns out less one note than last year...

1. Your main fandom of the year?

Guardian (TV). It had some more competition than last year, but I'm mostly still staying within derivatives distance XD

2. Your favourite film you watched in the year?

Fannishly, it would have to be the Heihua movie (Mystery of the Abyss). Otherwise, probably Knives Out.

3. Your favourite book read in the year?

Always hard to narrow down, but probably She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan.


4. Your favourite album or song to listen to in the year?

I don't really do albums, and picking just one song is pretty impossible. In the interest of having something here, I'll go with Zhou Shen's cover of 如愿

5. Your favourite TV show of the year?

Since I watched Guardian for the first time last year, I'll go with Nirvana in Fire. Because Nirvana in Fire.

6. Your best new fandom discovery of the year?

QZGS/The King's Avatar. I did not at all see this esports fandom coming, but I'm having a delightful time with it.

7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

Not getting into Love Between Fairy and Devil, maybe? No major disappointments anywhere.

8. Your fandom boyfriend of the year?

Shen Wei.

9. Your fandom girlfriend of the year?

Alanna the Lioness. I was back on a Tortall reading kick over the summer.

10. Your biggest squee moment of the year?

Uhhh, probably Zhu Yilong winning a Golden Rooster? That was pretty great.

11. The most missed of your old fandoms?

I don't really miss fandoms, and if I do I just go back and read some more.

12. The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?

I never really plan fandoms, so... it'll be a surprise to me.

13. Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?

I don't really keep up with news of upcoming stuff, so again... it'll be a surprise.
